Trevor Garlick OBE has been awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Technology (Hon DTech) at Robert Gordon University’s graduation ceremony on Tuesday 12 July at 10.30am.
Trevor Garlick was the Regional President for BP’s UK and Norwegian business, prior to his retirement in 2016.
He graduated with a BSc in Geology from Leeds University and an MEng in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He joined BP as a Petroleum Engineer in 1985 then progressed to become an Oilfield Manager.
In 2007 Trevor moved to Stavanger, where he was Head of Country for BP Norway.
Trevor returned to Aberdeen as the Vice President for Reservoir and Development before being made the Head of BP North Sea in 2010.
In 2013 he received an honorary doctorate from Heriot-Watt University. He was co-Chair of the Board of Oil and Gas UK, and a Director of the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI).
He retired from BP earlier this year.
Trevor was awarded an OBE in the Queens 90th Birthday honours list.
