Orientation and Enrolment

All International students must register their arrival and attend one Orientation Presentation before they can enrol at the University.

The Orientation Presentation will give you essential information to help you settle into RGU and Aberdeen. This will include how to register with a doctor, how to open a UK bank account, university support services available to you, visa requirements (if applicable) and other useful information.

Orientation presentations will be held daily from Monday 22 January 2018 to Tuesday 30 January 2018 (excluding weekends). Students will meet at Georgina Scott Sutherland Learning Centre at the Aberdeen Business School (level 3), Garthdee Campus between 9:00 am and no later than 9.40am.

Induction and Freshers Week events

Our Induction and Freshers Week for new students is held in January, just before the start of term.

You will receive a warm welcome when you arrive. The programme gives you the opportunity to get to know the campus and the city, and to meet staff and other new students. There are social events and trips to help you to make new friends.

Meet and Greet Service

A free ‘Meet and Greet Service’ is offered to all new international Robert Gordon University (RGU) students at Aberdeen International Airport from Saturday 20th January 2018 to Sunday 28th January 2018 (inclusive).

Arriving to study in Scotland will be an exciting opportunity for you, but it can also be daunting. If you book a ‘Meet and Greet Service’ in advance this will put your mind at rest.

A friendly and welcoming Student Ambassador will be waiting to meet you at the airport. The student will be easily identifiable wearing a purple RGU T-Shirt and you should make yourself known to them. The Student Ambassador will be able to offer you information and guidance on, amongst other things, onward travel to get to your accommodation. Please note that during this period, onward travel expenses are to be met by you so you are advised to ensure that you have funds to cover this.

You will also receive a Welcome Envelope which will give you essential information for your first few days.

When you have firmly accepted your offer to study at Robert Gordon University you can book your ‘Meet and Greet’:
