Application Procedure

Students interested in studying at Hanze will be nominated by RGU. Nominated students will then be able to apply using Hanze's online application.

Each Hanze School has its own online application link.  The link will be emailed to each student once they have been nominated.  The following documents will need to be uploaded:

  • Transcript of Records
  • Passport/ID card (valid for the whole of the exchange period)
  • Learning Agreement

Accommodation Information

Accommodation provided

Hanze does not provide accommodation for exchange students (as is typical in the Netherlands) and instead advises students to find housing on the private market. Students are advised to begin looking for accomondation as soon as possible and to apply for housing as soon as they have received their letter of acceptance. 

Average cost of rent per month

Between € 350,- and € 500,-

Items provided in University accommodation

Depends on the residence, generally rooms will come furnished with a bed, desk, chair, storage space, etc.

Laundry facilities in the residences

Depends on the residence.

Cooking facilities or meals provided

Cooking facilities provided.

Number of students sharing bathroom

Depends on the residence, can be up to 12.

Cleaning service and how frequent

Depends on the residence, generally cleaning services are not provided.

Other Relevant Information

Hanze advises students to use a service called SSH to help find accommodation. It is a separate organisation that provides accommodation for students in Groningen.
