Jackie is part of the team delivering The BSc Professional Nursing Practice, a new top up degree designed collaboratively between The School of Nursing, Midwifery & Paramedic Practice, RGU and NHS Grampian.

Jackie is a registered nurse and an experienced lecturer, both nationally and internationally. Her professional background is in specialist palliative care nursing and community nursing.

Jackie began her education career with Marie Curie Cancer Care where she was a programme leader for the Cancer and Palliative Care BSc programme and developed the MSc in Palliative Care for multiprofessionals.

In her previous role, Jackie was a:

  • Module Leader for a core 2nd year undergraduate level 8 nursing module, A Holistic Approach to Long Term Conditions
  • Module Leader for Learning, Teaching Approaches in Practice, a degree module in Singapore
  • Deputy Module Leader for Elective Nursing modules

Group Leader for the Adult Nurse Programme for those undertaking the Bachelor of Nursing (Adult). 

She has experience in teaching students from a broad range of disciplines. Her key areas of teaching are the care of individuals with long term conditions; communication skills; and clinical skills.

Jackie was also seconded to the NHS as an education consultant in End of Life Care.
