Chris Moule is the Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Robert Gordon University.
He joined RGU in 2010 as a Business Development Manager focusing on developing commercial relationships and progressed to Head of Commercial Operations in 2017. In his current role he leads RGU’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Group (EIG), the RGU startup accelerator programmes and the creation of the RGU/ONE digital incubator. He actively works with students, staff and graduates, partners, donors and engages with regional innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Chris was previously Enterprise Manager at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow where he set up and led the Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network for 4 years. Playing a leading role in the Tech Transfer office of Research and Innovation his team worked to stimulate and grow startup and spin outs, drive commercial activity, work with investor community and assist in the successful licensing of technology. Building on this foundation the university won The Times Higher Education Entrepreneurial University of the year in 2013.
A graduate of Liverpool John Moores University he joined the Rank Organisation and went through their Graduate Management Training Programme. After moving to Glasgow in 1994 he went on to manage a number of high-end city centre bars and restaurants before starting his own catering business - Stir Ltd in 2000. After completing an Executive MBA at the University of Glasgow he created the 'Young Company Development Programme' at a Local Development Company in the North of Glasgow supporting over 100 early stage companies.
He was a former Commercial Director of a digital media company in Forres with links to MIT Media Lab and has a wealth of entrepreneurial experience having started three of his own businesses - Stir Ltd, a retail catering business in Edinburgh, One Stadium Ltd, a web design company and a training and development consultancy called Green Envelope.
