Duties and Responsibilities

Hayley is a Research Assistant specialising in Social Science research. Her work currently focuses largely on health, safety and competency management in the oil and gas industry.

Hayley has been a Research Assistant since May 2012. She has previously worked as a Library Assistant in public libraries, secondary and higher education libraries, as well as working in youth social care facilities. Hayley graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2007 with a MA in Historical Studies where her dissertation focused on the figure of St. Ninian, and the literary evidence of his role in the development of early Scottish Christianity.  Hayley is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

Hayley completed the MSc in Information and Library Studies at Robert Gordon University, graduating with Distinction in July 2013. Her Masters’ thesis was entitled "Seven Pillars and Five Minds: the piloting of a new framework for understanding and conceptualising information literacy in small business environments" and was awarded the Douglas Anderson Award, which is awarded for the best dissertation in the fields of information retrieval, technology or information literacy.
