Richard is an alumni of RGU who graduated with a Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing (Children’s) in 1998. His nursing career has seen him work in Aberdeen, Manchester and across Australia. Richard has a clinical interest in paediatric oncology and respiratory. He has had a variety of clinical roles including as a research nurse working on 2 asthma studies and a respiratory clinical nurse specialist.
Richard teaches on a variety of both undergraduate and post graduate modules with a particular focus on the science based modules.
Richard is currently part of a national group examining ways of improving recruitment and retention of men to undergraduate nursing programmes.
