Duties and Responsibilities

Uche is a lecturer in the law school and the module co-ordinator for the on-campus commercial law programme. Additionally, Uche does some teaching, at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels, in relation to business law, advanced business law, the law of obligations and evidence, legal system & skills and law of arbitration. Uche also coaches the dispute resolution moot team.

He was awarded the STAR Outstanding Lecturer Award in two consecutive years; a student-driven award based on providing a positive learning experience in the fields of law. Uche is a solicitor of England & Wales as well as a barrister & solicitor of the Supreme Courts of Nigeria.

Academic Background

Uche is currently a doctoral candidate in the fields of Public International Law at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen Scotland. His research entails looking into the pivotal or peripheral role of NGOs in the realignment of the international legal framework in the 21st Century. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Uche has a PG Certificate in Research Methods with distinction. He holds an LLM in International Commercial Law and was awarded the Sweet & Maxwell Law Prize as the best law graduate of his year. Uche has also furthered his Public International Law training at The Hague Academy of International Law, The Netherlands.

Having the vast experience of working with highly competitive law firms in the UK and Nigeria as well as in a FTSE 100 company in the UK. He has also garnered specialised practice experience both in the corporate commercial industry as well as the charity sector. He has been an associate counsel in a top 5 Tier law firm as well as a corporate governance & legal compliance solicitor and legal team manager in the UK charity sector, servicing over 800 charities in the UK.

Research Interests

Uche’s primary research interest is in the areas of NGOs and their interface with international law. His keen interest is in the areas of public international law and charity law. He is also interested in business law, commercial law and dispute resolution.
