Colin Bell is the Fashion Application Supervisor who contributes to the delivery of both teaching and learning in the department of Fashion and Textiles with focus in the areas of garment manufacture and pattern cutting.
He engages with the demands of garment construction for womenswear, menswear, knitwear and printed textiles for Fashion. His time is dedicated to demonstrating and exploring new techniques of garment fabrication through challenging traditional design and make methods and to encourage a comprehensive knowledge of pattern drafting and garment production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contributing to the delivery of teaching and learning with focus in areas of pattern cutting and garment manufacture for the BA (Hons) Fashion & Textiles course. Contact time with students is predominantly used to demonstrate and explore traditional and innovative techniques and to provide a comprehensive knowledge of pattern drafting, garment manufacture processes, draping methods and finishing techniques.
Colin also coordinates the annual Graduate Fashion Show.
