Change in Career
Karen Alford decided to retrain as a social worker later in life and graduated with a Diploma in the field recently. She sees the move as one of the best decisions she has ever made.
Karen began her education with a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Health Services and Public Health Research. Her decision to retrain has changed her life and presented exciting new opportunities.
She said: "The social work training was incredibly interesting and I really enjoyed the course and the opportunity to work for extended periods on placement both in Banff and Elgin, putting theory and learning into practice. I found it really quite hard going back to study but it was an opportunity to stretch myself in new directions, learn new skills and gain new horizons."
