Knowledge Transfer

Knowledge transfer is about exchanging good ideas between universities, other research organisations, business, government, the public sector and the wider community.

It is a two way communication that brings benefit to both parties. By ensuring that we have an open channel for dialogue it is much more likely that the research we do will be applicable.

With our focus on applied research knowledge transfer is a natural outcome of our research activity, which we hope will derive new products, services for economic benefit but also helps to engage our staff and students in the wider community.

Knowledge transfer can take many forms including:

  • Publications
  • Placements and secondments
  • Collaborative research and development
  • Consultancy
  • Licensing
  • Spinout or Joint Venture Companies
