Art & Design Placements: Students

The aim of an industrial placement is to provide students with the opportunity to consolidate and broaden the knowledge they have gained in their studies. The working environment allows students to apply their academic knowledge and skills to a real world situation.

Students from all our undergraduate courses are encouraged to complete some form of work-based learning activity. This could be through residential workshops at arts organisations or by taking part in live project work in conjunction with design agencies.

In addition, students on the following courses are encouraged to undertake placements lasting 10 weeks during year 3 of their studies:

By choosing to undertake a placement during your studies, you will be able to put into practice some of the design techniques and skills you have developed.
