RGU’s Postgraduate Professional Mentoring Scheme is currently offered to postgraduate students from all courses who study with the university on campus full-time, part-time or via distance learning.
The scheme matches experienced professionals (mentors) with RGU students (mentees) over a six month period beginning in January.
If you’re a current student interested in the scheme:
You will be invited by email to attend to attend a presentation to find out more in October. This scheme only operates once a year.
"The mentoring experience has positively impacted my approach to my career. Since we were introduced, my mentor has supported me to review a career defining opportunity, moving overseas or pursuing a role within my current organisation and provided insight into what it will take to become a c-suite executive."
- MBA Oil and Gas Management Distance Learning Student
The majority of our mentees, from the scheme last year, said that they had a positive experience with the scheme and it had a positive impact on their career development.

"I was approached by RGU in early 2017 to act as a mentor to a LLM Construction Law and Arbitration student. RGU’s staff checked in with both mentee and mentor during the process and offered support for the benefit of the programme, mentor and mentee throughout. I would highly recommend participation in this programme to both alumni who can offer service as mentor and students who will benefit from the opportunity to speak and correspond with a practitioner in their area of study. I am very proud to be involved in this worthwhile programme."

Our mentors tell us that they gain great personal benefit when they are mentoring a student, and find the experience both positive and rewarding.
