Industry Expert Lecturers
Andrew is a visiting lecturer for the Wells and Drilling Technology MSc modules at the RGU Oil & Gas Centre in the School of Engineering. His areas of expertise are well logging and directional drilling. He is a non-executive director of the 3i (venture capital) group and a co-owner of Aberdeen Drilling Management.
Gordon Botterill is an independent oil industry drilling consultant working in the Middle East, Far East, Africa, Europe/North Sea & Australia. His Oil & Gas Centre involvement is in Drilling Operations Management, Business Economics and Offshore Pipeline Construction.
Ken is a consultant ad hoc lecturer providing online support for Campusmoodle. He is a Senior Mentor for the Monitored Professional Development Scheme, supervising projects as well as being involved with the writing and marking of exam papers. He is the distance learning tutor for the Wells and Drilling Technology MSc modules.
Juan Tovar is a visiting lecturer at the RGU Oil & Gas Centre in the School of Engineering. His areas and disciplines of interest are Well Completion Design, Rehabilitation, Intervention and Applied Geomechanics. Juan is a tutor / lecturer on both full-time and distance learning MSc modules "Advanced Completions & Subsea Systems" and "Wells".
Director - Oil & Gas Centre
Duncan is a graduate of Aberdeen University and a former UK Drilling Engineering Manager. He believes that RGU has a key role in contributing to the future reputation of Aberdeen and the North Sea Oil Industry as a continuing global influence.
Dr Amish, FEI, is the Oil and Gas Engineering and Offshore Oil and Gas Engineering Programme Leader with 32 years relevant industry experience, including 15 years of professional academic teaching, leading corporate programs with RGU, 18 years of Petroleum Engineering industry experience and several years heavy involvement in technical projects & corporate programmes for the UK and overseas energy sectors.
Bassam is Associate Head of the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment. He has an extensive experience in the development and delivery of training programs for the private and public sectors. His main subject area is construction and generic project management.
Richard is Director of Postgraduate Teaching. He teaches subjects across the electronic and electrical engineering discipline, specialising in the areas of digital, data and optical communications. His current research work is focused on the continued development of digital technology to assist in the control of diabetes by using wireless sensor networks and smart phone technology.
Steve Button is Programme Leader for the Asset Integrity Management MSc at the Oil & Gas Centre in the RGU School of Engineering.
Ian Cowe is a Programme Leader for Petroleum Production Engineering MSc and Senior Lecturer at the RGU Oil & Gas Centre in Aberdeen. He has a particular interest in QHSE and Oil & Gas Well Integrity.
Dr. Hossain’s interests include advanced combustion modelling, CFD modelling of multi-phase flows in oil and gas, turbulence-device interaction in tidal stream and fuel cell.
Ibiye Iyalla is Programme Leader for Subsea Engineering MSc and a lecturer at the Oil & Gas Centre in the RGU School of Engineering. He is involved in the face to face, distance learning, blended learning and corporate delivery of the MSc energy courses. He is also involved with research in the School of Engineering.
Dr Oluyemi is a Lecturer and MSc Projects Manager for both FT and Distance Learning students at the Robert Gordon University. His research covers oilfield chemistry related formation damage, optimisation of fracture flow, formation evaluation and geomechanical characterisation of formation rock.
Paula Rorie is Programme Leader for MSc Engineering and an Online Distance Learning Teaching Assistant at the Oil & Gas Centre in the RGU School of Engineering.
Reza is developing new courses on unconventional Oil & Gas Resources development and Reservoir Engineering in the RGU Oil & Gas Institute and School of Engineering.
Jo-Anne Tait is the Academic Strategic Lead for the School of Engineering at the Robert Gordon University.
Antony is a geology discipline leader in the RGU School of Engineering Oil & Gas Centre.
