Maggie is Deputy Chief Executive of Opportunity North East.
She was previously Director, Energy with Scottish Enterprise.
Having worked in the field of economic development for over 20 years, she has significant experience in strategy development and implementation, and in working with a wide range of stakeholders on collaboration and cultural change.
She led Scottish Enterprise's support for the growth of the Energy sector in Scotland, working closely with the public and private sectors to deliver an integrated response. This support recognises the continuing scale of the oil and gas sector and the size of the opportunity in the renewables and low carbon technologies sector in which Scotland enjoys a strong competitive advantage. She also played a key role in the Energy Jobs Taskforce set up by the First Minister of Scotland in response to the challenges within the oil and gas sector.
Maggie was previously Director of Food and Drink for Scottish Enterprise and a founder member of the Board of Scotland Food and Drink. A graduate of Robert Gordon University, she spent her early career in London working with British Gas and then the Consumer's Association before returning to Aberdeen to start her career in economic development. Maggie has extensive networks across Scotland with the business community and public agencies.
