Kirsteen Close joined the staff of RGU in 1998, following a career in legal practice.
Employed initially as a Lecturer in Law, Kirsteen thereafter moved to Aberdeen Business School, becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2011.
Kirsteen has held a number of positions during her career, including Course Leader and Programme Manager, and has acted as a course development leader for a range of masters courses, including programmes in Corporate Governance and Public Administration. She has also acted as External Examiner for a number of institutions, including the University of Northumbria's undergraduate programmes in public administration and management and the University of Stirling's Diploma in Legal Practice. In 2016, she acted as an external subject expert during the revalidation of Glasgow Caledonian University's suite of undergraduate programmes in management.
Kirsteen is currently a member of Academic Council representing Aberdeen Business School.
