Romy Bruce is having double celebrations this week as she graduates from Robert Gordon University (RGU) and has also secured a position on the Jurys Inn Graduate Programme.
The 22-year-old, from Elgin, graduated with a degree in International Hospitality Management on Wednesday July 11 at 2.30pm.
She always knew she wanted to work in the tourism and hospitality sector so decided to go to RGU as she thought it would open up more doors for her, which she said it has.
Romy said: “I was initially attracted to the course as it covers a lot of general business management so she is not restricted just to hospitality. The opportunity to travel and work anywhere in the world was also an attraction.
“I am proud of how much I have improved along the way of my RGU journey – I put my head down in fourth year and achieved two A’s and four B’s.”
Romy is delighted to have been offered a position on a Graduate Programme starting after the summer.
She said: “I have been offered a position on the Jurys Inn Graduate Programme, so I am working there over the summer until the programme begins in September.
“It is a two year programme which is made up of three eight-month placements in three different locations across the UK.
“When I began university I was unsure where it would take me, but now I am confident that I have made the right decision and I’m delighted to have graduated with a 2:1 and stepped on to the career ladder already.”
