Rebecca Donn is celebrating as she graduates with a degree in Law and Management from Robert Gordon University (RGU).
The 22-year-old, from Fraserburgh, studied Legal Services for two years at North East Scotland College (NESCOL) and gained an HND which then meant she could go directly into third year of Law and Management at RGU.
“It felt like the natural progression for me to go on to RGU to complete the Honours degree,” she said.
“The wide variety of modules which could be studied appealed to me as I didn’t know which route of employment I wanted to go into. I also liked the fact there were two elements to the course – the law side and the management side.
“I am very proud of myself for gaining a degree at honours level. At times it would tough as I kept on my job in addition to my studies but I’m so glad I persevered and got there in the end.
“I really enjoyed my time at university.”
Rebecca got the chance to put what she had learnt into practice as she undertook a placement at Banff Sheriff Court which she thoroughly enjoyed.
“I really enjoyed my placement as it put all my learning into practice and prepared me for employment after university,” she said.
When Rebecca wasn’t studying or working, she was also the first person to complete her Silver Duke of Edinburgh through the RGU Union.
Now, after receiving her exam results and graduating, Rebecca hopes to secure employment in an environment which best utilises the skills and knowledge she has gained at RGU.
“My time at RGU has definitely prepared me for my next step onto the career ladder. I have gained a wide variety of skills which will be useful in any future career,” she concluded.
